It's a great day out, the atmosphere is amazing and the whole family can take part. 100% of your entry fees go to selected charitable causes and to further develop the amazing tracks in the District.

Late Entries
Online entries close 8pm Saturday 06 April, 2024.
Entries can be made on the day and will incur a late payment fee of $15 (for those over 17 yrs).
There are four MTB events to choose from and there is something for everyone - the 7km beginner ride, right through to the longest ride of 27km which takes in the tracks on Buckingham's property and the new Cheese Roll.
Ebikes are welcome too in the 20 and 27 Km rides (but are not eligible for prizes).
The aging date for entry fees is your age on 01 January 2024
7km Beginners MTB Ride
This 7km mountain bike ride is a great introductory event ride for the younger ones or those new to mountain bike events. This ride will start at Victoria Park, go along Garlands track, up Garlands Road, down Point Bush Road Track and take in Orb - a new track near the Waimate Creek before heading back towards the finish line at Victoria Park.

Family Fun 13km MTB Ride
Victoria Park to the start of the Whitehorse Big Easy trail via Garlands Track and Road. Up the Big Easy to the Pentagon, down the Twisted Linker Track and Twisted Monster, back down Big Easy, Point Bush Road, returning to Victoria Park.

To the Top 20km MTB Ride
Victoria Park to the start of the Whitehorse Big Easy trail via Garlands Track and Road. Ride all the way to the Whitehorse and then turn for home coming back via Wriggly Beast, Rosewood Link Track, Filthy Animal, back up Big Easy to Twisted Linker Track, Twisted Monster, Big Easy and back to Garlands Road and returning to Victoria Park.

Real Deal 27km MTB Ride
Victoria Park to the start of the Whitehorse Big Easy trail via Garlands Track and road. Ride up to the Whitehorse, then looping back to the Wriggly Beast, Rosewood Link Track, Filthy Animal (top section) onto private land where there is over 5km of digger-built mountain bike trails. A loop of the Big Gully is first and then another loop at the end of the airstrip paddock. These two loops include new trails as well as upgraded older trails. You will have the option of riding a variety of intermediate grade trail features or you can choose the B-Line and ride around them. You will then rejoin the Filthy Animal down to the Big Easy and up again for a second climb to ride Cheese Roll, Twisted Linker, Twisted Monster, back on the Big Easy back to Garlands Road and returning to Victoria Park.

Our run and walk courses cater for everyone. The 21km run takes you all the way to the top of the White Horse Hill, with stunning views. The popular 5km run or walk course is achievable for all ages and abilities, and the 13km course which is somewhere in between.

21km Run
Similar to the open bike, the run offers some testing hills, private farm tracks and a great view from the top of the Whitehorse Hill.

13km Run or Walk
Still a challenging course, but accessible to everyone. From Victoria Park you head to Naylors Track, then over Point Bush Road Bridge onto Garlands Track. Up Garlands Road to the Point Bush Ecosanctuary where you join the Big Easy until the pond. At this junction you turn down the Whitehorse Walking Track to the Ecosanctuary and return to Victoria Park via Point Bush Road Track, Naylors Track and enter via Hillary Street.

5km Run or Walk
It starts flat and meanders under trees along Naylors and Garlands Track, then a gradual uphill and easy descent to make your way back to the finish line! It's all on public land so you can start training at anytime. A really scenic course and achievable, low cost entry, no excuse not to join in! Child friendly.

1.5km Run or Bike
This event is for the younger members of the family, winding their way around the venue. It's a great way to get them involved.

Duathlon
Back again for 2024! Enter the duathlon as an individual and run the 13km track then jump on your bike and take on the 20km MTB course.
Note - you will start with the 13km runners and complete the run. You will then start the 20km MTB when this event officially starts. So depending on how fast you are, you may have time to change your kit or have a snack - however, you must attend the bikers briefing. Your two event times will then be combined to give you an overall duathlon event time.

Teams Challenge
Grab a mate, one of you does the 27km MTB course, and the other the 21km Run. It's always an exciting event as teams compete for the glory of winning the coveted Whitehorse Challenge Trophy.
